This year, OECHSLER has achieved several key milestones in its sustainability strategy: For the first time, the entire Group—including all its locations in Germany, Romania, Mexico, and China—was awarded EcoVadis Gold, placing it among the top 5 percent of all companies evaluated worldwide. At the same time, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reduced by 86.7 percent since 2023, meaning the SBTi-validated target for 2034 has already been achieved. OECHSLER is also on track for Scope 3, with a 30.1 percent reduction in emissions intensity. Joining the UN Global Compact further underscores the company’s commitment to responsible corporate governance.
Ansbach, August 20, 2026 — OECHSLER AG has made three significant strides this year in implementing its sustainability strategy. For the first time, the entire corporate group—including all locations in Germany, Romania, Mexico, and China—has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold rating. At the same time, emissions data from 2025 show that the polymer technology specialist has already met its Scope 1 and 2 reduction targets—validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)—and is on track to meet its Scope 3 target path. By joining the UN Global Compact, OECHSLER is also formally embedding the principles of responsible corporate governance into its own reporting.
This year’s EcoVadis rating marks a new milestone: For the first time, the entire OECHSLER Group, including all international locations, has been awarded a Gold rating. This places the company among the top five percent of all companies evaluated by EcoVadis worldwide.
The rating assesses performance in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The group-wide result demonstrates that sustainability at OECHSLER is not limited to individual locations but is embedded in the company’s global structures and processes.
Compared to the base year of 2023, OECHSLER reduced its direct and energy-related emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 86.7 percent in 2025—to 1,796 metric tons of CO₂. The SBTi-validated target path calls for a 58.8 percent reduction to 5,545 metric tons by 2034. This target has thus been achieved nine years ahead of schedule. This progress is based on the development of in-house renewable energy generation capacity at all international locations, as well as on a significant scale at the Weißenburg site. In addition, all of the Group’s sites source 100 percent of their electricity from renewable energy: For every kilowatt-hour purchased, OECHSLER acquires a certificate of origin that verifies generation from renewable sources—in Germany and Romania in the form of Guarantees of Origin (GoO), in Mexico via I-RECs, and in China, starting in 2025, via Green Electricity Certificates (GEC).
With regard to indirect emissions along the value chain (Scope 3), progress toward the 2025 target is on track: Since 2023, CO₂ emissions per metric ton of products sold have fallen by 30.1 percent; the SBTi-validated target calls for a 63.8 percent reduction by 2034. Contributing to this progress are an improved data foundation, targeted material selection, and changes in the product and sales mix.
